pre-2022
CORE U19 first competed in RoboCup Singapore Open 2021, coming in 1st and winning the Best Presentation and Best Logbook awards. They would go on to improve their robot and win RoboCup Asia Pacific 2021. At this point, we knew it was time to move on from the EV3 platform, prioritising growth over awards.

On the other hand, we have been trying non-LEGO approaches at Club Automatica for RCJ Rescue Line, winning our first award while representing Singapore at RoboCup Leipzig in 2016 (Superteam 3rd). Our 2021 team gave it an earnest attempt, winning the Best Engineering Award and 3rd place at RoboCup Singapore Open, going on to represent Singapore at RoboCup Worldwide. This gave the juniors confidence to work on something more in 2022 as seniors.

2022
2022 was a pivotal moment for our teams. HaBROmania (Club Automatica) and CORE U19 pioneered vision-first approaches. Implementing their own variants of my vector field concept for line following with OpenCV running on a Raspberry Pi, the teams came in 1st and 3rd respectively.

2022
We combined these 2 pioneering teams for RoboCup Asia Pacific 2022, with 2 members from CORE U19, the junior member at HaBROmania, and a new member from KEMX (SG Open 2022 2nd) to form CORE X.

The idea was to continue the work of CORE U19 and give an opportunity to the juniors at Automatica to step up.

The team blew the competition away, winning RCJ Rescue Line Secondary 1st, Technical Challenge 1st, Presentation 1st.
2023
For RoboCup Singapore Open, Team Bugless was formed, comprising 2 members from CORE X (former HaBROmania and KEMX) and 2 new members at Club Automatica. With a year of experience, the 2 existing members led the charge, clinching the Championship again.

Their team leader became my first student to achieve a 100% national win rate over 2 competitions (2022 and 2023 RoboCup Junior Rescue Line, and 2022 WRO RoboMission Senior).
